Post by Jnyusa »

OUR VERY FIRST NEWEST MEMBER IS ....

Early Bird Ethel!!

(someone told you that the first wine served is the best, right?)

:cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:

There's supposed to be a prize for you, but I haven't filled the photobucket yet, so you'll have to take a rain check.

Glad to see 'ya here, Ethel

Jn

p.s. - actually your comments and suggestions would be really welcome. You can be our focus group.

It is a pleasure and an honor to be welcomed by such wonderful company. I almost feel that I have stolen a march on far worthier folks. But there you are. As Captain Wentworth so memorably said, "I must learn to brook being happier than I deserve."

This is so exciting. We have our first new member!

(One is always afraid, you know, of having to eat all the cheese dip oneself.)

Sorry that there's not much to see here yet. We're still pulling the slip covers off the furniture.

I'll let Voronwë give you a translation of the forums if you're interested.

Welcome, Ethel. Even if your not really here yet. ;)

I hope you'll come discuss the Silmarillion with us here. Among other things, of course. :)

Welcome, Ethel!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Arda Unmarred is going to be the bestest forum, I think. There's a thread for daily nature photos, and these guys that are so good with cameras have been putting up the most astounding pictures.

It's like getting a little mint on your pillow at the end of each day.

Jny, I'm not THAT good with a camera............I'm just exceptionally adept at Googling. :halo:

Peeples, I have to go to bed now. You guys are all out west, except for Hobby, and Cerin who have probably already gone to bed.

It's the middle of the night for me again. Time to sleep.

I will see you all in the morning.

Ethel, I'm just leaving your permissions for this forum on, and I'll switch you into the all-forum group when we open.

We're talking now about ... it will be about 4:00 pm your time on Thursday.

G'night all!

Please come back soon.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. I think I must have driven poor Jn crazy like a flea in her sock, to be allowed to post even here so early. Sorry 'bout that, my friend!

When is the grand opening? I long to get my keyboard fingers on some of those intriguing forums...

Ethel, it is scheduled for 10 p.m. GMT tomorrow - 2 p.m. Pacific (which I am guessing is 3 pm your time, though I could be wrong). It'll probably be a few minutes after that before your permissions are actually set, but you will be first. (You should receive an email indicating that you have been added to the "all-members group).
