Marvelous. And they seem genuinely happy to be working together.

Thanks for sharing that, Brian. Dig those mutton chops on John! :D

One of the comments gives the recording date as 2/11/68. (I would have been in kindergarden at that time.) Gee that was a long time ago!

The Beatles will always be the greatest rock band to me. Was there ever a band that had three guys as talented as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison? Okay, perhaps that's a bit subjective, but how many other rock bands have spawned an animated show for TV? :D

Oh man ... how long ago was THAT! It made me feel like a teenager again.

I always kind of wondered if that song was John getting in a dig at Paul...the stuff that got less friendly when the group broke up.

There's just something about the lyrics:

Sheepdog
Standing in the rain
Bullfrog
Doing it again
Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
What makes you think you're something special when you smile?

Child-like
No one understands
Jack knife
In your sweaty hands
Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears

You can talk to me, if you're lonely you can talk to me

Big man (Yeah)
Walking in the park
Wigwam
Frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you
You think you know me but you haven't got a clue

You can talk to me, if you're lonely you can talk to me

Actually, I have found that there are a ton of Beatle videos on Youtube, google et al, some that i was aware of, like music clips from the movies and such, but there is also some weird stuff.

For example:

The following a video of the Beatles from 1964 on a variety
show performing the parody of Pyramus and Thisbe (from
Greek myths) from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's
Dream". (The hecklers are part of the act.) They apparently did
a lot of this sort of thing that most people are not
aware of (at least, I was not, and I've been a fan of the Beatles for quite a while).

It's like watching the Beatles as the Marx Brothers or
Monty Python.

With John Lennon in drag. Heh.

Yeah.
Thanks to your link, I spent most of last Sunday watching them. Including the 3/4 of the Let It Be movie they have there.

Oooh...painful to watch, except for the concert on the roof. Great Moments in Music History. :D

The one time I saw it in a theater around 1979, whenver Yoko was on screen, everyone in the place hissed and booed...
