Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
Another beauty, Maria!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I think I'm going to open an Etsy shop for these thingys.
Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
I think thats a good idea! I'd be willing to buy one of the Dragons, depending on price and shipping!

Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
Wow! Those are fantastic!
Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
My kids loved their fiber animals. The dragon got lots of oooohs and aaahhhhs.
My older daughter grabbed my Etsy idea and ran with it. She showed me how to set up indirect lighting and gave me lots of tips on photography. She fixed what I'd already done on Etsy and she and my younger daughter spent a whole afternoon taking pictures of all the creatures I've made so far.
They even managed to make the raccoon look cute!

Brilliant!
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
I've been making a dragon for my husband. He was rushing me to get it finished this week so he could show it to a friend of his at work who is leaving and their last day was today. I got done enough to show last night and today he took it to work.
Here are the pics.

And here is it in the car
And once at work he started harassing lego Gandalf
It has taken about 147 hours to do so far. I still need to work on it some more and tighten up some loose wool. And maybe add some thumb/claws to the wings...Re: fiber arts and handicrafts
Oh my! I love the shot of the dragon & Gandalf. It's amazing.

Awesome!

Jaw-droppingly amazing! Real talent. And such an astonishing amount of work you've put into it, too. Hat off to you.

Thanks, it was fun to do.
The best part, honestly, was how thrilled my husband was at every new stage of completion. "Look, I got his feet done!" He'd examine them, grin and grab the phone for a progress pic. He's got dozens of pics of this dragon.

My husband looked at this, and after going "Wow!" he pointed out that given the time it took, you should not sell a comparable dragon for less than $3,000.
Certainly you shouldn't sell one for less than that if it's commissioned.
I honestly agree with him. They're that good. You should get at least a semi-decent wage for the time they take, and I would argue for more above that for the artistry.
You seriously have a gift for this, Maria.
