Prior to watching Penny Dreadful I would have thought this was a terrible idea. Now, I have to admit, I'm curious. Could be fun!

Re: Dickensian
But what will they do about all the iconic characters who died? Little Nell? Dora Copperfield?
. . . Bill Sykes?
. . . Bill Sykes?
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Re: Dickensian
Well, if its like Penny dreadful, they are the same characters in different stories. In Penny Dreadful, I kept on assuming that Minna Harker, Van Helsing and Victor Frankenstein would eventually interleave their stories with established canon, but they don't. Its like the same characters in an alternate universe. Which means nobody is safe!
