I've never seen Metropolis, but I loved Lang's "Scarlet Street" (which is available for free download on the Internet Movie Archive).

Lost Parts of Lang's Metropolis Found
All of my nieces and nephews at my godson/nephew Nicholas's Medical School graduation. Now a neurosurgical resident at University of Arizona, Tucson.

Having seen the various previous versions of METROPOLIS I welcome this find with open arms. A three hour version should be amazing. Now all we need is Lon Chaney in LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
