That is just awesome!
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

:nono: this is why we can't have nice things. Or an economy.
The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.

"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

So back at the beginning of June when we first went back to the office, I picked up my 2020 planner, and on the cover under where it boldly proclaims "2020 PLANNER" I took a sharpie and added "HA HA HA Oh what an optimistic fool I was"

I was reminded of it just now when I saw a sign that said "The dumbest thing I've ever bought was a 2020 planner"

This was linked to from the video Túrin posted in the Covid-19 thread. I probably only got about half of the jokes here, but it's still pretty funny:

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Help Shakespeare & Co, Get a Drawing of You by Dave Eggers

Here's a cool deal - buy $500 or €500 worth of books from a bookstore, get a portrait drawn by a really good artist. Or at least an interesting writer.

My heart breaks for these businesses. So many restaurants and small shops are closing. It's a tough time. :( Nice incentive idea Dave Eggers has though. I hope it helps the shop.
