Melly, the link won't open for me.

Was it an entire Beckett play lost inside a James Joyce sentence?

Try again, Jn, it seems to be working now.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

Oh this is even better!

Were that his vision, I suspect he would have used perforated paper.

"And, as if to further exemplify the anonymity and facelessness of 20th-century man, they were found, of all places, between other sheets of paper."
Another example of his genius!

I can't wait to see how this gets performed.

TED, they said it would be performed during the intermission of Waiting for Godot. ;)

Jn

eta: Here's a question for you. When you're watching Waiting for Godot, how can you tell the intermission from the end?

What if the end was really supposed to be a second intermission, and this lost play was intended to be the last act?

(Oh dear. I just had a pang of missing lucy. He would know what to make of this discovery.) :(
