Far From the Madding Crowd

Post by vison »

Fanny Robin goes to the wrong church on her wedding day - and in the end Troy doesn't marry her.

But how could Fanny have gone to the wrong church? Weren't the banns read? Wouldn't she have had to be a member of the church in order for the banns to be read?

Or did Troy get a Special License?

Heh, I started reading that (typical, a woman tries to do a man's job, gets into trouble, man has to rescue).

I was wondering what someone who actually raises sheep thought of the story.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Terry Pratchett, Guards! Guards!
