ROTK is full of little gratuitous moments like the skull avalanche and the dismal Corsairs that add nothing to the experience but do seem like pure PJ. [This comment isn't direct solely at the quoted comment but applies to many (but certainly not a...

The first critical review I've seen -- the writer seems not to like JRRT all that much but does seem to like the book quite a bit: http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 613657.ece

Hi, V!! Keep plugging away at your book -- you'll hit upon a publisher that's smart enough to go with it eventually. Oh, and here's one I somehow missed, with some very interesting details about NL's Shaye (from NYTimes -- it requires a paid subscription, so I'll make "fair use" of it belo...

Now this is passing odd -- a major newspaper (the Boston Globe) publishing an editorial demanding that PJ make the Hobbit!!!   In fact, I'm so excited, I'm going to jump on a plane and fly up to Boston right now to luxuriate in the atmosphere of such an enlightened city (er, well act...

Here's a prediction (unfortunately, my predictions usually fail by force of having been made -- it's the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle of predictions, so to speak) -- In a 3-way deal (among MGM, New Line and Zantz), MGM will acquire all rights to making and distributing the Hobbit and PJ & Co...

Here's what Variety has to say -- in my usual self-serving manner, I will bold the language that supports (kinda) my previous desperate cling to faint hopes . . . btw -- I don't subscribe to Variety -- I signed up a while back for one of those short-term freebee access thingies which they claim has ...

:x :x :x but (not to hold out false hope) this may not be the last word as, I suspect (but have not researched to see if I'm correct), MGM's rights to in the Hobbit probably do not expire at the same time as New Line's since (I believe) they were derived through a different course of dealing. So, if...

To steal a bit of the Howard Shore interview (this portion relating to the Hobbit) that Alatar posted in the TTT Complete Recordings . . . CC: Now that you say that, there has been quite a bit of talk about THE HOBBIT being made into one or two movies...possibly by Peter Jackson. If that happens, do...
