I agree with you on those River. Compared to those people, Obama just started his campaign for say "world peace, climate change etc..." for a few weeks. Let's give him a little leeway, a few months then. The others like Desmond Tutu started their campaign years before they were handed the ...

I have to read this, thanks for the info, Vison. I have two kids, I started teaching them how to skate (wearing molded skates) when they turned two. (They will turn three in December.) They've been bugging me to teach them hockey since I am a volunteer coach/instructor in the local pee wee hockey le...

OOops....based on this no new troops are going to be deployed in Afganistan. That's an extraordinarily insulting thing to say, Lurker. Do you have any proof whatsoever that he would base such an important decision on something like this? I said it was "IMHO", he's still sitting on it, so ...

No new laws were passed for the people, no new programs were begun, no wars were started or ended, nobody got hurt or killed or healed or saved,..... in short, our lives have not changed at all. OOops....based on this no new troops are going to be deployed in Afganistan. That wouldn't be good move ...

Why do some people get a pass for what they say here and others don't? Just my observation. :) I'm sure the silent minority agrees with me. I can cite examples but I'd rather not.

He is a good word smith! Barking dogs seldom bite. . IMHO, of course. :) If I won an award and don't deserve it, I will return it, cause my conscience will bother me, but that's me, I'm not like most people. Or I would accept it at a later date until I can show I've earned it. For example, I won hig...

We are not talking about Benazir Bhutto here, my dear. :) I was just teasing V with regards to the justification of his nomination. I know that, I am not a puzzlewit. :) One of my close friends' dad used to be in the higher echelons of the Pakistani goverment so I get my info from the source not fro...

His statement that he doesn't deserve the award is a general statement without saying why. So I'm just supplying the reasons for him. :P

So what's the problem? :P I'm not arguing just reinforcing Obama's statement. :)

I did read what you said. I was just messing with you. :P I apologize I couldn't help it sometimes. Peace, V! On a serious note: So if it's just a justification for his nomination, so the question remains what is the basis for his winning this award ? You just don't nominate for the sake of nominati...

President Obama who is contributing to improve the international climate [/i] Where did they base this then? His campaign speeches? I posted that the nominations ended on Feb. 1, 2009. So two weeks into his Presidency he already contributed in improving the international climate. How? Mor...

Before I posted this I've gone through the Nobel Peace Prize website and read almost everything there. I am just stating the facts, V, nothing personal. I still don't agree with your analysis. If he won as the First Black American President, then, Benazir Bhutto, should have been nominated for the p...

Lurker, according to Wikipedia , there were 205 nominees for the Peace Prize this year. And the decision was not made until much later in the year. I suspect the MO is to nominate everyone who might conceivably be worth awarding, and narrow the list down as the year goes on. Certainly Obama did not...

Three priests also had the lead role and even the Archbishop of Detroit! Man, I wish he interviewed the Pope as well. Shucks!!! So there ...

Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story
