hal, what is everyone not seeing?

If vengeance was the aim, the police had plenty of chances during his capture to kill him. I, for one, was quite relieved that they seemed to take care to keep him alive.

1. Yes, I'm following it. I follow all the stories that come over our news wires. That's my job. 2. My paper has run several stories on the trial, though not as many as some of our readers want. We usually do not do day-by-day coverage of any non-local trials. Our space for national news varies, and...

 A verse pops up (possibly misremembered) from a long ago memorization: Trust the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul, and lean not to your own understanding. The world is scary sometimes, and in those times it is good to remember that love dwells at the heart of creation. But that said ......

This may sound sappy, but I really love to read everything all of you post, whether I agree with it or not. I like having a window into your beautiful minds.

That is most definitely true of yours, Eru, Anthy and Impy!

I don't always post, but I read everything on this site with great enjoyment.

I don't have a problem with people deleting posts (other than it making me insanely curious, and we know what curiosity does to wampuscats). I have just one request for everyone: Please do not engage in mind-reading. If you have decided you don't want to say what you said, fine. Delete. But please d...

You can do far more than you think you can, hal. You certainly can do more in your chosen field than I would ever dream of being able to do! Move forward with confidence that you will learn what you need to learn and do what you need to do. And do try to enjoy the journey. (And prayers, of cou...

I think Clara's going to be an excellent companion. She would have paired well with Tennant's Doctor. Then again, I think I would have paired well with Tennant's Doctor.

The Book of Common Prayer that Episcopalians use lists two sacraments, Baptism and the Eucharist, that were given to the church by Jesus. It also lists 5 sacramental rites that evolved in the church: confirmation, ordination, matrimony, reconciliation of a penitent (confession) and unction of the si...

Which is why my former Episcopal priest was known to tell his thoroughly Christian congregants, "I wish you were all Jews! Then you might actually wrestle with scripture -- and even with God -- instead of passively accepting whatever your Sunday school teacher told you when you were 5 years old...
