Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies fan reviews... SP

Well, I'm back, to give my review. Saw it Christmas Day, with my daughter and her boyfriend, in Phoenix. Nice special effects. I could relate to Tauriel when she is mourning over Kili, and as sappy as the scene was I was in tears (seems that one and a half years can melt away sometimes). However I d...

What a great thread. I am struggling now with a type of seeing the good in myself. I was told many years ago I forgot to see the good in others that had wronged me, so I have made an effort to learn to see the good. I have forgiven people who have wronged me and in some cases remember the good, but ...

Got to see it in real 3D with the glasses as a trailer before the Man of Steel. The CGI is much better in the 3D.

Love the idea of the movie and am quite excited...but I hope they clean up the CGI in editing because some of its bad. (shakes fist at daughters knowing how to do this now and her telling me tricks and mistakes)

He is 16 and they found him in a high school where he went to get out of the weather, phone was dead so he didn't call anyone.

I sure wish I could remember how old her kids are...

For those who pray, I am asking for prayers for my friend Missy and her family. They live in Colorado Springs and her son (early 20's) disappeared last night in the blizzard and hasn't been heard from at all, not at friends, his girlfriend hasn't heard from him since 7 and the police can't find a tr...

My only disappointment was that Moonrise Kingdom didn't win anything. Well that and Bradley Cooper gave the best acting performance of anyone in Silver Linings Playbook, so it's weird that Jennifer Lawrence won and he didn't... but the competition was pretty hard in the lead actor category. Agree H...

We have a big tv and there is a noticable difference in the quality of the Blue Ray on some films more than others. Avatar looks wonderful, where as on the ealy Harry Pooter films transitions the difference is marginal Having big 1080p TV does make a difference...mostly I see it in the older stuff ...

I figured that the 49er's would not be ready for the Superbowl this year and sort of half hoped they'd loose the NFC champ. game. I watched the first quarter, saw the mess the 9'ers were making and knew I was right about them not being ready. Although I haven't watched football most of the year, onl...

Though I haven't seen it, from people's reactions I expect Life of Pi will get the effects win. Having seen both, I think Pi will win. And absolutely adored The Hobbit effects, even freaked out at the beginning of the film. I was thinking there was some big biker guy standing in front of the screen...

Went to see this one today. It is good, I'd say Anne does deserve the Oscar nod for this one for best supporting actress. I enjoyed Hugh as Jean even though his singing wasn't greatest I've heard in the part. Eddie Redmayne as Marius was really good. Also watched Beasts of the Southern Wild...and Qu...

I agree Wampus, the narrative meaning is why I want to read the book now.

I am just so happy it got several Oscar nods. Sad The Hobbit didn't get more.

well I didn't like the bird poo on Radagast. Some of the battle scenes were too long and I wanted more Smaug. And I want the next movie out sooner, not later. The people I went to see it with and I discussed how far in the book the movie went, we decided it wasn't far enough into the book ;)
