It's so superficial as to be generic and useless, yet people believe in it and base their judgements of people on it. Thats the real problem. How is it superficial? It tells you the base drivers of someone's personality - what types of behaviour are natural to them, and what aren't. It's like being...

Both are true If, as you believe, its a powerful tool but not totally decisive, it should certainly not be used. A powerful tool that is flawed is dangerous. However, I don't think it's as powerful as you believe. Just because a box of apples are all red does not mean they taste the same. Some will ...

Eragon and Eldest
Has anyone read these? They're main claim to fame seems to be that the Author, Christopher Paolini was so young when he wrote Eragon. I believe he was about 16 at the time and is still only about 19 with two bestsellers to his name. Eragon is surrently in production as a movie and is due for release...

If I felt that you were only dealing with descriptions this conversation wouldn't be taking place. The problem I have with the MTBI is that it's not used to describe people, it's used to classify and categorise them. Or at least that is certainly the impression I get from the threads here and on B77...

Well, if you're going by what the test said I am, you're spot on. However, you told me not to go by the test and instead to pick the description that I felt best described me. ENFP is described thusly: Enthusiastic, idealistic, and creative. Able to do almost anything that interests them. Great peop...

Nice work Hobby, I actually figured out most of that one by myself. I think once you're in the mindset it gets easier. :) About Jnyusa, I assumed it was a phoenetic spelling Jay +Ten -T + USA J + EN + USA Jnyusa pronounces her name Jenyoosa I believe, so it's half phoenetic and half spelled out. Tha...

So lets see, according to yova I'm either INFP or ENFP but of that only the NF part is fairly sure. Lord_M has me as either NFJ or NTJ. So basically the only thing that two people can agree on for sure about me after knowing me for a year is that I'm definitely N? It doesn't sound like a very good s...

Whistler, I'm sure you have already considered these options, but you might find that an English publisher might be more willing to handle your book than an American one. They certainly seem more forward thinking and less mainstream. Also, subtlety and sophistication are hardly bywords for the sort ...
