Another question (now that I know a producer doesn't have to bring the director coffee... ;) ) Who decides what the second movie's story arc will be? Is it just up to the screenwriters (who I assume will be Peter and Fran and maybe Philippa)? Do New Line execs have a say? I'm also assuming the direc...

Perhaps Aragorn dumping Arwen will be the climax of the second film....

But because Aragorn is Strider and wandering around watching Hobbits from the bushes (suspicious?), he doesn't know about this so doesn't go to Rivendell. Arwen doesn't know where to find him, so they don't see each other again until Fritto has to take some piece of enchanted jewellery to Rivendell...

Well done, Alatar!

More! More!

I still don't get that the first movie will be the Hobbit and the second one the story in between Hobbit and LOTR. Isn't an "in between" movie lacking an ending? It will have to have some sort of story arc of its own. What will it be?

I don't get it. What's a "producer" anyway?
Are they financing it? Getting the director coffee?

:bawling: The Rockies just didn't do what we knew they could do. Congratulations to the RS for a job well done. Very consistent playing. I agree that this year the WS was boring. You can tell it getting beyond the pale when the broadcasters were pulling up weirder and weirder stats. (More weird than...

ooh, this is starting to hurt. poor Rockies. Our Operations Manager is having a big party at her home on Sat for the first World Series game played in Colorado ! Sounds to me like a great way to see the game. (I listened to the radio broadcast of the first two games.) The Rockies just gotta win!!!

GO ROCKIES!!!1

I don't think the Rockies will be swept in the WS. They will have a lot of rest (9 days or so) and be watching both the Red Sox and the Indians carefully.

A columnist suggested watching Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine to get an idea of what drives gun ownership in America. [admission: I've not seen it myself.] She said that whether you are turned off by Michael-Moore-the-celebrity or not, the movie itself is nuanced and shows both sides. Gun own...

I can play the vocal chords. ;) And so can everyone else, though to varying degrees of satisfaction. I find if I am accompanied by a dishpan of hot soapy water, I can warble out definitely the first verse of a song and odd bits of second and third verses, sometimes combined. What else am I to do whi...

Barnes&Noble finally got my copy in. US$55 with taxes. May be cheaper online by now.

Still, I've made it through "Fanghorn" on the first disk and I'm not thinking anymore about the money I spent.
